You will find here a first reporting of some of the findings of the building consultants along with ideas and concepts for improvements and upgrade to the facilities. In these concepts, you will find that particular attention is given to making the multi-level campus accessible to ALL.
At this stage we invite comments from all parishioners as we discern our course together for this most amazing project and to provide a viable St. Paul's for generations to come.

Outdoor Plans
REVISED JULY 10, 2003
These plans call for the elimination of the driveway through the campus and include the addition of some parking behind the rectory. The current Bethlehem Pike entrance would be turned into a two-way driveway with a circular drop-off/turn-around area near the church. Dixon House would have a covered roof added around the side to provide shelter from inclement weather and the portcochere would also be enclosed with glass walls. They also propose a terrace along the side of the church which will have a labyrinth built into the floor and the terrace would be large enough for a party tent. The lower Chestnut Hill drive would be turned into a semi-circular "drop-off" area. All of these areas would be accessible to the Parish House without steps and then accessible to the elevator which transports to other levels. This plan is still very much fluid in our attempts to satisfy safety with traffic flow to and from the campus. |
