FINANCE
St. Paul's finances are, ultimately, the responsibility of the vestry.
The finance committee, which is chaired by the accounting warden, advises the vestry about, according to the by-laws, "the parish budget, investment strategy, depositories, trusts, insurance and accounting and auditing processes."
The committee meets monthly from September through June to review the parish budget and the endowment fund being managed by our financial advisors. The accounting warden also prepares regular reports for the vestry and the parish.
The parish operating budget is drawn up by the rector and staff in consultation with the finance committee. The budget is then acted on by the vestry.
Expenses for capital expenditures or for extraordinary needs and any changes in financial policies must be approved by the vestry.
The finance committee is comprised of at least seven members, at least three of whom are on the vestry. The accounting warden and other members of the committee regularly make themselves available to answer questions from and listen to concerns of parishioners.
