CHILDREN
AND YOUTH

The Children’s Creed
I believe in God above, I believe in Jesus’ love,
I believe Christ died for me so I could live eternally,
I believe the Spirit too, comes to show me what to do,
And I believe God wants me
to be just and kind and walk humbly.
Sunday morning classes for children and youth are held from mid-September to mid-June.
All youth leaders are trained in diocesan safe church policies in order to assure that all children in our care are part of safe and nurturing environment. St. Paul's safe church policy is available through this link or in the parish office.
While children are in their respective classrooms, parents have the opportunity to attend Parents Exchange. In discussing challenges of parenting today, ideas are shared, encouragement offered and support given as members talk together about familiar issues.
Infant and Toddler Ministries
Sunday mornings in the nursery from 9:00 to 11:45 a.m.
Birth to 3 years
Designed to provide our youngest ones with a safe, loving environment
and a positive introduction to the church. We take great care to ensure
that parents can worship comfortably, knowing their children are in the
caring, experienced hands of professional sitters and volunteers from the
parish.
Godly Play I
Sunday mornings at 9:40 a.m. Children ages 3 to 6 years
Godly Play is a Christian Education ministry for children beginning at
age 3. Godly Play is a paradigm shift from traditional Sunday School
and holds that children are naturally spiritual. The goal of Godly Play is
to teach children the art of using religious language, parable, sacred
story, silence and liturgical action in order to help children find meaning
in their lives.
Godly Play II
Sunday mornings at 9:40 a.m. Children ages 7 to 9 years
The Montessori Godly Play ministry continues for our next age group of
children.
4th and 5th Grade Classes
Sunday mornings at 9:40 a.m.
Living the Good News presents the
Bible lessons that are read each Sunday and introduces them in an age appropriate
way with activities, discussion, and arts and crafts.
Middle School Youth
Sunday mornings from 9:40 to 10:20 a.m.
Living the Good News continues
for Middle School youth. The group will also meet outside church for
fun and community-building activities.
High School Youth
Sunday mornings from 9:40 to 10:20 a.m.
This forum is for young people
beginning their journey to confirmation, and older youth who take a
stronger role in worship ministries such as reading, acolyting and in music.
Participants engage the Biblical story with daily life and continue to
develop a life of prayer and service. Our goal is to engage young people
throughout their school years, so there is not a time when they drop away
from church life.
Parents’ Exchange
Sunday mornings from 9:40 to 10:20 a.m. in the Parish Hall
Parents
gather to exchange ideas, discuss family issues of faith and offer support
to one another. Contact Cathy Davis, kaloskids@aol.com
