What is this “Facebook” and why should I care?

Matthew 18:20 says, “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

The St. Paul’s Communications Committee is pushing to have 200 people “Like” St. Paul’s Facebook page by May 27th (in return for free ice cream at our Parish Picnic in June!).

But what is this “Facebook” and why should I care?

Emphasizing the role of Christianity in a Universal Moral Philosophy, Sam Frederick brings a course he taught for Temple University’s LifeLong Learning Program to St. Paul’s Adult Education Series. His four-part course continues in the Dixon House this Tuesday, May 22 at 7 p.m. with “The History: Stars of Our Human Moral Firmament.”

Duo Recital: John Fowler, Baritone & Caroline Robison, Organ May 19

On May 19 at 8pm John Fowler, baritone, and Caroline Robinson, organ, are giving a recital (freewill offering) at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Chestnut Hill. They will be performing a mix of sacred and secular music, with selections from Ralph Vaughan Williams Five Mystical Songs, Charles Villiers Stanford’s Bible Songs, Samuel Barber’s Dover Beach (originally for baritone and string quartet), and a set of songs by Charles Ives.

Education for Ministry Graduates

The following parishioners graduated the Education for Ministry course at the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral yesterday: Charlotte Kleis, Jonathan Nidock, Bob Busser, Doug Anderson, and Linda McCree.  This is a four year in depth course covering scripture, theology, ethics, theology and history.  A main component of the course is to relate the studies to one’s personal life situation.  All five of our parishioners did an outstanding piece of work.  Congratulations!

New Owners of the Top of the Hill Lot Restricting Parking

As many discovered on Sunday, April 29, the new owners of the parking lot adjacent to Saint Paul’s and the Top of the Hill Plaza have closed the lot to the general public, and are barring its use by anyone other than patrons of the Top of the Hill shops and Spa Elysium and Fringe Salon…

Give mother’s car a Carwash on Mothers’ Day, May 13

High School youth will be washing cars for mothers and others on Sunday, May 13 during the 10:30 a.m. worship.  Youth will wash your car while you are enjoying Mother’s Day worship at Saint Paul’s.  The proceeds will help defray the cost to Saint Paul’s youth who are making the pilgrimage to the Standing Rock [...]
