New Owners of the Top of the Hill Lot Restricting Parking

By Ian Howell , 12:13 pm

As many discovered on Sunday, April 29, the new owners of the parking lot adjacent to Saint Paul’s and the Top of the Hill Plaza have closed the lot to the general public, and are barring its use by anyone other than patrons of the Top of the Hill shops and Spa Elysium and Fringe Salon. For the time being, Saint Paul’s parishioners should refrain from parking in that lot while attending services or other activities at Saint Paul’s.

The Rector and Vestry are investigating the legalities of the parking situation and will be communicating further with the lot owners. We are hopeful that the church will regain the use of the lot for parishioners, but it may take some time before the situation is resolved. In the meantime, Saint Paul’s parishioners should use other alternatives for parking. Available alternatives are the small parking lot behind Dixon House, the Medical Building lot opposite the church on Chestnut Hill Avenue (on Sunday mornings only), parking along the church driveway and on-street parking.

I had thought years ago (1952) that some of that parking property originally belonged to St Pauls who leased it back to the parking authority.
