We celebrate the Conversion of Saint Paul the Apostle on Sunday, January 29. To commemorate this day we have invited Dr. John R. Franke to be with us. He will preach at the 10:30 a.m. worship and have a question and answer session during fellowship time in the Dixon House Library. Additionally, he will meet with the Faith Forum at 9:40 a.m. in the Library. Dr. Franke is Theologian in Residence at First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, PA and General Coordinator for the Gospel and Our Culture Network. He holds the DPhil degree from the University of Oxford and is particularly interested in engaging postmodern thought and culture from the perspective of missional Christian faith. He has spoken on the relationships between the gospel, theology, mission, and culture throughout the US and around the world. He is the author of numerous articles and reviews as well as several books including Beyond Foundationalism: Shaping Theology in a Postmodern Context (Westminster John Knox Press), The Character of Theology (Baker Academic), and Manifold Witness: The Plurality of Truth (Abingdon). His next book, Missional Theology: Christianity for the Sake of the World (Baker Academic) is scheduled for publication in the fall of 2012. Don‘t miss this remarkable theologian who will join us to celebrate Saint Paul!
